Gift Shop Remodeled

The gift shop at St. John’s has a whole new look thanks to the combined efforts of Dusty Harrington-Collins and Phil Colozzi. With hammer and saw they created shelves behind the showcase and overhead lighting to display the many items for sale. Under the supervision of shop manager, Lynda Dietel, the store is carrying: crucifixes, rosaries, small statues, religious jewelry, bibles, catechisms and other religious books for children and adults. It now has a variety of religious outdoor sculptures for your garden. They will take individual orders for you through the many catalogues available to look at. All prices are kept very reasonable and any profit goes to the Women’s Guild/Altar Society. The shop is always open after Mass on Sunday and Wednesday mornings or Lynda will be happy to arrange an appointment, at your convenience, by calling (541) 332-0139.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing and Christmas Caroling

In the two weeks before Christmas every year, St. John's Church organizes the traditioal Bell Ringing Fundraiser for the Salvation Army.  Many churches and organizations in Port Orford volunteer to ring the bell on different days in front of Rays Market. Just before Christmas this past year, Rolando Rodriguez invited members of the community to join in caroling while Priscilla Lang, a member of St. John's rings the Salvation Army bell.
